¿No está España preparada para ver qué pueden hacer las mujeres sin los hombres? Según un director de un festival de cine, las escenas de amor lésbico en Amas de casa desesperadas una estrella Eva Longoria Y pizarrero cristiano película, Sin min, fue cortado por la distribuidora de la película en ese país.

“Recibimos un comunicado de la distribuidora en España diciendo que cuando se estrene la película se eliminarán las escenas lésbicas”, Directora del Festival Internacional Gay y Lésbico de Barcelona, Javier DanielY le dice a la AFP.

A raíz de la censura, el festival decidió cancelar la proyección de la película.

“Estamos muy enojados de que la distribuidora pueda ajustar el contenido de la película”, dice Daniel. «La audiencia no entenderá la película, porque todas las escenas lésbicas están cortadas… Es increíble en 2011».

[Update Oct. 25 3: 28 a.m. James Ordonez, president of Tayrona Entertainment, the film’s distributor in Spain, issued the following statement to THR:

It’s absolutely not accurate to say that Eva Longoria’s lesbian scenes were entirely removed from the film as your article reads.

Actually they are part of our Marketing campaign as you can see in the TRAILER made for Spain and Latin America (which is completely different from the campaign made by Maya Entertainment)

What we did was to re-edit and re-version the film in agreement with the Producers and Director in order to balance the film for a mainstream audience. Without Men was never conceived as a Lesbian story but as a comedy about situations that happen to a town when all men are sent to war. Those situations included lesbianism among many other ones.

It’s not accurate to say either that the festival canceled the screening of the film as Tayrona actually rejected the participation of the film in a Gay and Lesbian Film festival when the film is not a Lesbian story and it’s not about lesbianism. It’s a mainstream comedy that includes lesbian scenes as part of the main story and to participate in a festival of this nature is against the business itself of the film as will confuse target audiences.

We respect the gay and lesbian community and we will love to participate in this Festival when we have a film targeted for this community.   Unfortunately Without Men is not that film.

Without Men will be released in Latin America in over 1,000 screens next December.]
