Ripley – Alma Delia García Guerrero, de 59 años, de Ripley, antes de Juanda, Nueva York y Autlan de Navarro, México, murió en su casa el jueves 14 de octubre de 2021, luego de una larga y valiente batalla contra el cáncer.
Nació el 11 de diciembre de 1961 en Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, México, hija del fallecido Antonio García Inegez y Simona Guerrero Navarrete.
Alma tiene dos títulos de asociado de Jamestown Community College, uno en servicios humanos y otro en servicios sociales, y una licenciatura en [sychology from Fredonia State College. She had held various counseling and other positions with the New York State Department of Corrections and Custodial Services (DOCCS) retiring as a deputy superintendent of Program Services at Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility in Brocton, N.Y.
She enjoyed traveling, with her trip to Spain and her frequent trips back home to Mexico among her favorites. She also participated in long, fund raising rides on her bicycle for various charities. Alma enjoyed walking her dog, cross country skiing, gardening, and spending time at her home in Florida.
Alma is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Michael Shutt, whom she married Dec. 11, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nev.; her two stepchildren: Kristen Gier of Amherst, N.Y., and Ryan Shutt of Eden, N.Y., two sisters: Angelica Garcia of Birmingham, Ala., and Bety Garcia of Autlan, MX, four brothers: Jose Antonio Garcia, Juan Felipe Garcia and Francisco Javier Garcia all of Autlan, MX and Richard Garcia of Alameda, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Lorena Garcia.
At Alma’s request there will be no public services observed. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
